A Simple History of European Remnant Groups

We know from history that within 30 years of the day of Pentecost the Gospel had penetrated into Europe and Britain with a very strong likelihood that one of the Apostles made it as far as Britain. From the early centuries of the Church and Christianity God raised up pure bodies of believers all the way from Israel to Italy to Ireland. The first three centuries saw terrible persecution unleashed against the church but then in the 4th Century came a compromised institutualised church which lived free from persecution. This so-called church soon would rise up and persecute all true remnant bodies of believers in Europe.

It is often thought that through the so-called Dark Ages there were no true strong Churches in Europe that were holding fast to scripture, Christ and holiness. But this is not so, there have been a great many Revived Remnant bodies that existed, thrived and overcame. Generally speaking these were called heretics by Rome, they were persecuted terribly and for some of them almost all records of their existence were destroyed. Yet they create a spiritual chain over the ages from the early centuries down till today that have never allowed the Lamp to go out in the Temple.
